Reykjavik to Gothenburg Project

During the summer of 2008 there will be a record attempt between Reykjavik (iceland) and Gothenburg (Sweden) with a 40 ft Rupert Rib. The boat is a custom build vessel with a fuel load suffient to reach a suitable pit stop in the middle of the northern Atlantic ocean.
No one has done this before with a boat of this size. Click on the graphic drawing above to enlarge. The boat is build and delivered and can be seen in Nacka Strand, Stockholm.

The RIB and its crew has already been doing some sea trials and set a new record round the island of Gotland this December. The time to beat now is 9h 39min 15sec.

The tired and weather beaten crew was very happy with the result and how the boat handled the ruff December conditions.
